Drastically Improve your home with underfloor insulation
Rarely do homeowners consider UFI (Underfloor Insulation), but given that up to 20% of heating can be lost through the floor it has become much more of a consideration and something we highly recommend. Here's what you need to know:
Floor insulation can help you keep your home warm, cut back on draughts and cut your energy bills
Floors at ground level can feel pretty cold and should be insulated if possible
The floors of upstairs rooms do not usually need to be insulated if the room or space underneath is heated
If your room is above an unheated space, such as a garage, you could benefit from floor insulation
Are you eligible for the government ECO scheme?
Underfloor Heating is not for every household, many of the newer builds have a concrete base and therefore cannot be improved without expensive and very messy removal of existing materials, if you have a basement, cellar or suspended floor beneath your property then its almost certain you will qualify.
