external wall insulation

Solid Internal/External Wall Insulation

We estimate and form in depth research that 35% of all heat loss in UK homes is through External walls.

Solid walls act as poor insulators of heat and surveys suggest that twice as much heat is lost through them than Cavity walls.

Solid walls can be treated either internally or externally both however carry a big decision for the client, externally it could alter the appearance for the good or detrimental depending on the area and setting, for the interior it has a consequence for reduction in space.

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that an annual saving of £460 is achieved on an average detached house in the UK.

cavity wall insulation

Cavity Wall Installation

Cavity wall and loft insulation is worth up to £1,100 and can slice up to £480/year off energy bills.

Energy firms are offering it for free, as long as you own your home and meet their eligibility criteria – but make sure it's right for your home first.

Most homes built between 1920 and 1990 have a gap between internal and external walls. Filling the cavity with insulating material means cold air's kept out, and warm air stays in.

Insulation can be installed either Internally or externally, the choice is often down to the individual as it can alter the look of the property

Are you eligible for the government ECO scheme?

Underfloor Heating is not for every household, many of the newer builds have a concrete base and therefore cannot be improved without expensive and very messy removal of existing materials, if you have a basement, cellar or suspended floor beneath your property then its almost certain you will qualify.
